Day 10 of no gluten, and Day 3 of sweating for 90 minutes!
I've made it to double digits for the gluten free meals! That's 50 times I have chosen to eat gluten free options! Woo hoo! Overall, I am feeling energized and healthy!
I had a smoothie for breakfast but instead of a beet today, I put a scoop of that yummy whey protein in it, and you would have never guessed that it was in there! For my crunchy item, I had a waffle from Nature's Path, and this one had the best texture of any I've tasted, and it was delicious with some agave on it! If you are looking for a good breakfast option: try Mesa Sunrise!
Lunch time was leftovers from yesterday but thanks to this awesome place called JuiceLand (Juice Land), I won a free soba salad, so that was part of my lunch as well! My co-workers and I enjoyed this tasty afternoon snack! It had soba noodles, shittake mushrooms, carrots, edamames, scallions, and sesame seeds! Can't wait to pick up some soba noodles and make my own dish with them! If anyone has a recipe, please send it my way!
I was able to go to the 4:30pm class, which meant I had to chug water like whoa during the day! I definitely feel like I was hydrated for tonight's class. I drank my 6 ounces of strong salt water! I only cramped up in my feet a couple of times, much better than the last two classes! One of the things that I am mentally trying to accomplish during my classes is to remain mentally in the room! Obviously it is easy to remain physically in the room but it is so easy to mentally check out and start thinking about all of the other things that need to be done! But really for that 90 minutes, I try to be in that room! I think, Try to focus on everything that the teacher is saying and what you are doing with your body! There is one posture during standing position that is absolutely challenging and it has always been my nemesis. It's called standing head to knee posture and I'll be darned if I can ever look like this: Standing Head to Knee
The most challenging posture for me during the floor series is called locust pose. The beginning of this posture is the most difficult part. One day my legs will get this high! Locust Pose
Sarah had dinner started for me when I got home and we enjoyed a healthy and delicious dinner of spiced pork and apples, broccoli from the farmer's market, and butternut squash risotto! The recipe can be found on Cooking Light: Spiced Pork and Apples and it's so simple to make!
I'm looking forward to tomorrow's yoga session! I am feeling sore but excited!
