Day 11 of that hot room and Day 18 of gluten free!!
My morning started off with a home-cooked breakfast by my lovely fiancee :-) I don't think these days would go by as smoothly as they do without her in my corner! She made me some scrabbled eggs and surprised me with some Udi's toast! I enjoyed all of it with my coffee and vanilla almond milk! Gives it a little bit of flavor without having to add too much sugar and calories!
I started drinking my water and salt water a little bit earlier in the day, just in case there was a change in my schedule!
Lunch time was so tasty and filling! I love red beans and rice, and I could probably eat it once a week! Thankfully I packed a banana and half of a luna protein bar for my afternoon snack! The banana made that luna protein bar more enjoyable.
I was feeling kind of "eh" about going to yoga today because it felt so long since I last went! I guess that's what happens when you go to 8am yoga the day before! As soon as I walked into that door, Nora and Jeff put a smile on my face and I was so happy to be there! I was having a great class and really getting into my postures and trying really hard to not let my mind take over (since I learned that lesson just yesterday). During standing stick, though, I heard and felt a pop in my left calf, my nemesis the last couple of months. All this pain rushed down my left leg and I couldn't help but fall out of the posture onto my mat. I asked Nora what to do and she said just to stay in the room. I wanted to cry since I was going to miss out on finishing off a class that started out fantastically! During the savasana that transitions us from standing series to the floor series, Nora told me to try and do what I felt comfortable with and to try to stay in the room if anything. I did the entire floor series and noticed that the only time my left calf ached was when I fully extended it. After class, Jeff told me to ice it and to come back tomorrow but to let the teacher know that I am taking it easy on that leg. I really hope it is nothing serious and that it does not ruin my 60 day challenge! I have been icing it and elevating it since I showered! Fingers crossed and good vibes sent my way, please!
To end on a good note: Sarah found this gluten free honey barbeque sauce (which is my favorite condiment on the face on the earth!), and she marinaded and grilled some chicken in it for dinner! Who would have known that barbeque sauce would have freaking gluten in it! She also grilled up some brussels sprouts, which are one of my new favorite vegetables! If only I could have Paul Qui's brussels sprouts from East Side King every night :-) Love Top Chef! Love that Paul is representing ATX so well :-)
Here's hoping that tomorrow's class goes swimmingly!
